Blimp anti-noise mitt
Nikon cameras are not very well known for being quiet, so I decided to make this purchase about a year ago, the noise muffle on the Jama Photo store. The goal is to be more discreet, whether in fixed hides or in billebaude.
There are 2 sizes, a standard for a weight of 461gr at the price of 120 € and a larger version for large cases (D4, D4s with grip) which is at the price of 144 €.
For my part I took the standard size to use it mainly with a Nikon D500.
Test
I am really very surprised by its efficiency in the field. It arises really very quickly, but because of its closing scratch, it should not be placed on its case at the last moment in front of its subject at the risk of scaring it when it opens.

Taking a lot of pictures of Kingfisher, Tetra lyre, Fox, etc ... At a short distance we can create disturbance with the noise of triggers, especially in bursts, if the subject gets too close to our lookout.
With this mitten the noise is really reduced:
Sound recorded at 1m from the case without muffle
Sound recorded at 10m from the case without muffle
Sound recorded at 1m from the case with muffle
Sound recorded at 10m from the case with muffle
It is also always possible to reach all the settings of the housing even with the muffle installed.

Two photos taken with the mitten at a very short distance from the subject:

Nikon D500 200-400mm at 3m

Nikon D500 200-400mm at 6m
Strong points
